Everyone likes something free, and it’s even better when done for others.  Thankfully many people and businesses have donated baby items over the years that have allowed us to have a donation closet.  Some of the better items are used in our Earn While You Learn store.  Clients in that program earn mommy bucks and can spend them on whatever they want in the store.

What Caring House offers:

  • Donation closet:  Used baby clothes from 3 months to 24 months,  towels, blankets, shoes, socks, bibs, and other small items.  The availability depends on donations given.  These items are available  during our operating hours.  We do ask for identification when you come, and there is a limit on the number of items taken.
  • Referrals to other close closets in the area:   First Baptist Church of Griffin,

Other websites for free baby stuff:  (Remember to read the fine print) This is not by any means exhaustive, but will give you a place to start.

Ever wondered how to get stuff for free?  Here are five quick tips to get you started:

  1. Don’t use your real phone number, unless you want to hear from that company, or know you need to verify in order to receive the free item you requested.  Here’s an easy way around it.  Sign up for a k7.net account which gets you a free phone number, and check your voicemail online.  This avoids the dreaded telemarketing phone calls at home.
  2. To keep spam away, use an extra email address through Gmail or Yahoo.
  3. Come up with a “business name”, as many sites may be meant for businesses, and will not send items to individuals.
  4. You can even email or call a company directly.  You’d  be surprised how many will respond positively to your requests.
  5. Use a program like Norton Identity Safe or Roboform to automatically fill in forms and help save you time as well as money.

Happy hunting!!!!!!
