  •     We offer confidential lay counseling, hope and support to women facing an unplanned pregnancy.
  • We educate through our Earn While You Learn program and parenting classes. There is a one time $40 charge for parenting classes.
  • We give practical assistance with baby items & clothing up to 24 months to those in need through our donation closet.
  • We offer self-administered pregnancy testing. We ask for $2 per pregnancy test.
  • We have referrals for other needs and adoption agencies.

]]> Many women start having Braxton Hicks contractions between 20 – 30 weeks.  It’s often hard to tell if you are actually going into labor, or if you are having these false contractions.  A good way to tell is that Braxton Hicks contractions do not get longer and stronger, and do not get closer together in time.  Here is a short video that will help you understand these tricky false contractions a little better.

Tips for easing Braxton Hicks:

• Taking a warm bath will help your body relax.

• Drink a couple of glasses of water.  Braxton Hicks contractions are often brought about by dehydration.

• Change your position.  Sometimes this will ease the contractions.  However, real contractions will not stop from  adjusting yourself.

• Go for a light walk.

• Try some deep breathing relaxation techniques.  This won’t stop the Braxton Hicks contractions, but it may help ease the discomfort.
